Tony Calabrese is the keyboardist for the Bombsquad. Tony hails from Waco, Texas and brings his attitude (everything is big in Texas) and style to the band.
Simply put he is the Bombsquad orchestra, providing horns, sax, violins and every other sound a keyboardist can muster out of his instrument.
Tony’s keen ear for tone, along with his great care and pride at programming the exact required sounds, has fooled a lot of people into thinking there are more than four musicians on stage. He plays every part - nothing is taped or click-tracked.
Tony provides a wall of sound and wealth of experience. For almost 30 years, he has played all over the U.S. and Canada. Some of his most notable accomplishments include session work with the world’s most recognized producers such as Jack Richardson who produced The Guess Who, also Eddie Kramer who produced Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, and ,of course - The Beatles.
Tony worked with these producers when he was with his band 24K out of Toronto. The lead singer of this band was Phil Narro, who also sang lead in Talas, the band formed by bass virtuoso Billy Sheehan of David Lee Roth and Mr. Big.
Tony has opened up for many national acts such as Foghat, Randy Bachman, Peter Criss (of Kiss), Aldo Nova, Bootsauce, Lee Aaron, Georgia satelites, and has even jammed with The Fabulous Thuderbirds.
Mark and Tony have been bandmates for many years. They were the last two remaining original members of The United Snakes for the band’s 9 year run, and when Chichkan formed The Bombsquad, Tony was the first call he made.
